At that time, David, a customer from the United States, contacted us and placed an order for small batch customization of 50 18.5-inch touch monitors. The customer’s company is a measuring instrument manufacturer located in the United States. Although the measuring instrument industry was not a familiar field for us at that time, it was not a problem for us with our professional experience in the design and production of touch screens, and measuring instruments have always been one of the common application scenarios of the touch display. In order to save the customer’s cost and time, we recommend the regular 18.5-inch touch monitor of the K1 series to the customer considering this product also met the customer’s requirements. The delivery can be arranged directly after placing an order because there is no customization procedure.
When we thought the cooperation and order had been confirmed, the customer provided us with a drawing and asked us if we had a touch display that matched the drawing just before the payment step. After the engineer analyzed the drawing, we found the parameters of this drawing were consistent with our LE series customized 18.5-inch touch display. After we confirmed with the customer, a sample was sent to the customer again.
After receiving the sample, the customer tested it and reported no problem, confirming that it could be put into production. But when we started to arrange the production, we found that the touch monitor mold for the LE series had been damaged. If we remade the mold, the cost would undoubtedly rise greatly. We discussed and decided to suspend the LE series 18.5-inch touch monitors’ production. We reported the cause of the incident to the customer in a timely manner, communicated with the customer via video call and apologized sincerely.
After having the customer’s understanding and consent, the cooperation continued. Our engineers immediately sought other solutions. Finally, we decided to use aluminum alloy as the frame of the touch display after discussing it with the customer, which can also satisfy the customer’s instrument measuring instrument installation requirements. And we sent a new sample to the customer for testing. Unfortunately, the sample test this time was not a success and the customer found the R angle of the sample was relatively large and could not fit the measuring instrument.
We are very grateful to the customer for their understanding and full trust in us. According to the more detailed requirements, we found a new aluminum material to make the frame and adjusted the accuracy of the R angle to the level required by the customer. In the end, the sample passed the test successfully, the customer agreed to the solution and we finally entered into the production step. After the product was produced, it went through a standardized testing process to ensure that all products’ functions and appearance were complete.
Touch Monitor Test
After the manufacture of each touch monitor is completed, various tests are needed before shipment to ensure that there will be no problems such as crashes or malfunctions during its operation within its life cycle.
Test Generally Follows Steps:
- Vibration test;
- Installation specification test;
- 1.2 meters horizontal drop test;
- Power consumption test;
- IP65 protection level test;
- Wide temperature range operation test;
- Motherboard thermal test;
After completing all the tests above, we will also conduct an aging test on the touch monitors, and let them run for 48 hours to confirm that there are no operating problems before packing them into boxes.
After the aging test is completed, the touch monitor will be boxed and packed by workers carefully following strict packing procedures. The touch screen will be pasted with a transparent protective film to prevent the screen from being covered with dust, then packed in a bag, put into an inner box with foam, sealed with sealing tape, and finally put into the outer box for double protection. We will also conduct an anti-vibration test on the packaging to check the stability of the packaging.
